Shaft Mount Gear Reducers

The shaft mount design eliminates the need for support structures necessary to supporting conventional foot mounted reducer assemblies, and the need for additional components to transmit torque from the reducer to the equipment. Shaft mount gear reducers are enclosed helical gear reducers with a hollow output shaft. They are installed directly on the input shaft of the driven machine and are supported by the shaft and torque arm or the frame of the motor mounts. The components of a shaft mount reducer include a rotating bushing ring, a torque arm bracket, a foot bracket, a high speed shaft (also called the input shaft, and for some applications, a backstop which permits rotation only in one direction. The shaft mount reducer is a cost-effective method of driving rotating equipment.
